Hey! I’m Vincent. I’m a creative technologist & product designer who’s currently experimenting with digital tools via design and code to try and help make the world a little saner. I like to think in systems and about flourishing, the web, and myth making through the mediums of sites, motion, and games.

Feel free to look at selected projects below. Otherwise, there's more about me at the bottom of this page:

SparkSidekick for creation
Spark is a Figma plug-in by Punchcut that utilizes the power of AI to ignite your creativity. I prototyped novel interactions and honed the quality of output through prompt engineering, working with the talented folks at Punchcut. [Spark is still under development, the video does not represent the final version]

On MeaningA motion piece on becoming.
This is a ~1 minute long motion graphics piece that sits with the question of meaning. The prompt of the class was the create a video that expresses an issue. My idea was to convey a conception of meaning through multiple layers / with many ways of processing the same information.

DialogosFor those who love ideas.
Dialogos is an app for online dialogue created from a self-directed independent project. Two goals drive it: 1) discover new and interesting people, ideas and reading material, and 2) foster richer, more insightful discussions around ideas. The process involved research, user interviews and surveys, and many rounds of design ideation and iteration.

AeraDeFi-native treasury and risk management.
Aera is a protocol working in the defi space. I worked with the team at Studio Rodrigo to build their launch site while interning there during 2022. I helped with their launch product site along with many assets on the site including the icons, diagrams, patterns and animations.

MAPTo enliven me for 10 years.
MAP is an app I made for myself so I can become more alive. It is a place where I can map out three kinds of information: Mods, Agencies and Projects. Because it keeps in mind the question of how it can still be continuously evocative and useful in 10 years time, it emphasises simplicity and elegance in both its visual design, as well as the kinds of information that is recorded on it.

Making a Place on the WebExplorations on home, gardens and tabs.
This is a three part series that uses ideas from environmental psychology as metaphors for the web. I think through notions of home, garden, and a better interface for tabs. The project walkthrough focuses on tabs. Links to the other parts are contained in the walkthrough.

2023 me & 2012 mini-me

I’m a kiwi! I'm currently a design technologist at Punchcut, having graduated with a BFA in Graphic Design at the Rhode Island School of Design.

All that I do is grounded in a concept I call bloomscrolling to awakening.

Bloomscrolling is my term for the opposite of doomscrolling, relating to the blooming of a flower, to flourishing. Awakening is used, in addition to the spiritual sense, to refer to the cultivation of meaning, to the complexification of thinking, to falling deeper in love with the world, and much more.

I’m interested in digital tools and the magics of the web. How might we make tools and environments that, just by using them, entice and enliven a new way of being?

This might be through periodically tending to a set of questions, or through having more effective tools for learning, or through a better way of co-evolving collective knowledge as we extend how we can dialogue online, or through prompting the expansion of our space of possibility so we have more ways of not just maintaining our sanity, but actively raising the baseline of our happiness by tenfold.

I’m currently focusing on the digital because I think that since the medium of computers is simulation, its fluidity and reactivity holds potentials that can greatly enrich how we relate to ourselves and to one another. This is important because I believe that interdisciplinary collaborations between people and ideas are key to sparking unthinkable thoughts, and the web is unusually good (and can be even better!) at making such connections.

All of this work is connected to the meta-crisis, and to my very tentative theory of change.

Thank you for swinging by, I hope to hear from you soon ✨
